Plan the week’s meals at your desk and tick off the shopping list on your phone in the shop. Build a class list in Group Generator at home and pick groups on the classroom computer. Or give the code to your partner, so you both add to the same shopping list.
LoschaZ tools keep what you make in your browser, on that one device. Sync copies it to your other devices and brings their changes back, without an account.
How Sync works in three steps
Create a sync code on this page. This device uploads an encrypted copy of the tools that are switched on.
On your other device, scan the QR code with the camera, or open this page and type the code. The page asks “Connect this device?” before it does anything.
Use the tools as usual. Connected devices sync when a tool page opens, a few seconds after a change and when you leave the page. Sync now does it at once.
What Sync carries
Each tool has its own switch on every device. All of them start switched on, except Resume Studio, which holds personal details and stays off until you turn it on.
- Meal Planner: recipes, week plans, pantry, shopping lists and settings
- Height Studio: your line-up with names, heights and colors, and the unit choice
- Group Generator: your classes with names, rules and past rounds
- Planner Studio: your planner pages with their entries and designs
- Mortgage Studio: your figures per country and the offers you compare
- Space Studio: your room plan, when saving on the device is turned on
- Prompt Studio: the prompts you saved
- Fuel Studio: your favorite stations and your fill-up diary
- Trading Studio: your journal trades and its settings, without screenshots
- Resume Studio: your resume text and design, without the photo (off by default)
What stays on each device
- Photos, videos, PDFs, audio and other files you open in a tool, including the photo in Resume Studio and the screenshots in Trading Studio.
- Face Shape photos: Face Shape Detector never stores them at all.
- Game progress. Games are not synced yet; their saves stay in the browser where you play.
- The price history in Fuel Studio, the last place you searched and interface choices such as the open tab.
- Tools that have no switch on this page, and your cookie and statistics choices.
Who can read your synced data
Your browser encrypts everything with AES-256 before it leaves the device. The key is made from the sync code, and the code never reaches our server: in the QR link it sits after the # sign, which browsers do not send. Our server stores only unreadable data under a number derived from the code, so nobody at LoschaZ can open it.
Treat the code like a house key. Anyone who has it can read and change the synced data, so share it only with people who should. Data that no device reads or changes for 12 months is deleted automatically, and Delete my data from the server removes it at once. There is no account, no email address and no password.
Good to know before you start
- Every device needs the code. If you lose it and no connected device is left, the data cannot be recovered, not even by us.
- When two devices change the same item at nearly the same moment, the later change wins. Different items, such as two new recipes, are combined.
- A tool page that is open while new data arrives may ask you to reload it.
- Changes made without a connection go out at the next sync. One code holds up to 1 MB of compressed data, which is plenty for lists and plans.
Questions about Sync
Do I need an account or an email address for Sync?
No. The sync code is all you need. We never ask for a name, an email address or a password, and Sync is free.
Can my partner and I share one shopping list?
Yes. Give your partner the code or let them scan the QR code. You both see and change the same Meal Planner data; if you edit the same line at the same moment, the later change wins.
Can LoschaZ read my synced data?
No. Your browser encrypts it with a key made from your code, and the code never reaches our server. We can only see that an encrypted entry exists, how large it is and when it was last used.
What happens if I lose the sync code?
A connected device can show the code again on this page. If no connected device is left, nobody can open the data any more, and it is deleted after 12 months without use. You can start again with a new code.
How do I stop syncing a phone or computer?
Open this page on it and choose Disconnect this device. The tools keep their data on that device. To remove the copy on our server as well, choose Delete my data from the server.
