What are AI prompts for images?
An AI image prompt is the text you give an image generator to describe the picture you want. Good prompts read like a short brief for a photographer: who or what is in the picture, where it is, how the light falls, what kind of camera or style it should look like, and the format. “A dog” leaves every decision to the model. “A golden retriever shaking off water on a lake jetty, backlit by low evening sun, droplets frozen in the air, 85mm photo, 4:5” gives it a picture to aim for.
The prompts in this library are written that way. Each card shows the full prompt, the models it suits and a short note on what to change. Words in square brackets, such as [city] or [product name], are placeholders for your own details.
How to use the free AI image prompt generator
- Choose what you want to make: a new image, an edit of your own photo or a video.
- Search for a topic or tap a model and an audience to narrow the list.
- Press Copy to take the prompt as it is, or Adapt to open it in the builder.
- In the builder, pick the model you will use. The prompt is reworded for it, with Midjourney parameters, a separate negative prompt for Kling or a sound line for Veo where they apply.
- Read the prompt check, fix what it points out, copy the result and paste it into your app.
Press Save on any prompt you want to keep. Saved prompts stay in your browser on this device, with no account.
Why the same prompt needs different wording in ChatGPT, Nano Banana and Midjourney
ChatGPT and Nano Banana in Gemini follow plain sentences and remember the conversation, so you can refine a picture with short follow-ups. Midjourney reads the same description but takes settings as parameters at the end: --ar 4:5 for the format and --no text to exclude something. Video models want the camera movement and the length spelled out, and Veo, Gemini Omni and Kling can also add sound when you describe it.
Excluding things works differently too. Kling and Ideogram have a separate negative prompt field; most chat-style tools do better with a short “Avoid:” sentence than with “no” inside the description, which can add the very thing you want to remove. Prompt Studio applies these differences when you switch the model, so you write one idea and copy the version that fits.
How do I make AI keep my face the same?
Start the prompt with what must not change: “Keep my face, hairstyle and expression exactly the same.” Then describe the change, then the light. Upload a sharp photo taken from the front, ask for one change at a time and correct small problems in the same chat instead of starting over. Big requests that change the setting, age and body in one message are where faces drift most. Every edit prompt in the library follows this order, and the prompt check reminds you when the keep sentence is missing.
Why does my AI picture look fake?
The usual giveaways are skin that looks like plastic, light that comes from nowhere and too many adjectives fighting each other. Ask for “natural skin texture, no smoothing”, name one clear light source, such as window light from the left, and cut words like “ultra detailed, 8k, masterpiece” that add nothing concrete. Hands, jewelry and small text still go wrong now and then, so look at the picture at full size before you post it, and ask for a fix of that one area if needed.
Which AI image generator should I use?
Use the one you already have access to, then compare when a picture matters. Reviewers often prefer Nano Banana in Gemini for photo-real light and skin, ChatGPT for exact text in images, Midjourney for mood and artistic style, FLUX.2 for photo realism, and Ideogram for posters and lettering. Seedream, Grok Imagine, Adobe Firefly and Higgsfield cover similar ground. For video, Veo 3.1, Kling 4.0, Seedance 2.5 and Gemini Omni are the current names; Sora is gone since OpenAI closed the app in April 2026.
Models update often, so the honest test is your own: run the same prompt in two of them and keep the better result. In Prompt Studio that means switching one chip.
Is it free, and what happens to my prompts?
Prompt Studio and every prompt in it are free to use, with no signup and no daily limit. The tool does not create images itself and does not contact any AI service: everything you type stays in your browser. Generating the picture then follows the plans and limits of the app you paste into. You are free to change the prompts and use them for your own projects; what you may do with the generated images depends on the terms of the model you use.
