Your letters stay on this device. As soon as you use the tool, it downloads the vocabulary pack for the selected language (about 0.8 MB) from this website. Every search then runs in your browser: your letters, filters and results are never sent to our server, and no search history is kept.

A general word list, not a game dictionary. The lists come from everyday usage. We read the 50,000 words of each standard search one by one and removed the abbreviations, names, brands and misspellings we found; like word games, the English list also leaves out words that are always capitalized, such as nationalities, days and months. The extended vocabulary was only filtered automatically, so a few such entries can remain there, and some valid words are missing. Vocabulary sources and licenses

Word anagram solver with blanks: account for the missing letter

Enter the letters you know and add ? or * for the blank tile supplied by the puzzle. Select “Exact anagrams” so the result uses the complete rack. A blank is a letter allowance, not a fixed position in a crossword grid. This tool searches a pool of available letters; it does not ask where an unknown character sits in a row of boxes.

For an illustrative task, imagine that a printed rack includes one question-mark tile. Keep exactly one unknown in the input. Adding a second because the first search is disappointing changes the problem. Before accepting any candidate, identify the letter supplied by the blank and confirm that all known letters are used in the required quantities.

Count repeated letters as carefully as unknown ones

An answer may look familiar yet need another copy of a letter the rack supplies only once. Compare the input preview with the original tiles. Repeated characters are part of the inventory, not decoration. If an apparent solution borrows a letter from the clue or omits an inconvenient duplicate, it is not an exact rearrangement of the supplied set.

The tool accepts up to twenty input letters and at most two blanks. A long phrase outside that input is a different task. Do not shorten it silently and describe the smaller search as a solution to the full phrase. When preparing a lesson, write the full permitted inventory beside the answer so someone else can reproduce the same conditions.

Rearrange the letters to make correct words with answers: use only known constraints

Set the length fields to match a known answer length. A confirmed prefix or ending can narrow the results under “Fine-tune your search”. Those fields constrain the word, but they do not create an independent position pattern. Use a fragment because the puzzle establishes it, not because it appears in an answer you already hope to find.

If the result is empty, remove the most uncertain fragment first. Then inspect the mode, selected language and repeated letters. Only after those checks should you broaden the vocabulary. This order tests the actual evidence instead of making the search progressively less like the printed puzzle. A spelling possibility still needs to match the meaning of the clue.

Check the accepted vocabulary before playing the word

“Explore the extended vocabulary” adds rarer forms and variants beyond the standard search. It can help investigate a suspected word, but it does not turn the general vocabulary into an official competition dictionary. Check the accepted reference for a named game or tournament. A listed word is not a universal declaration of legality.

Tap the chosen candidate to copy it and keep the rack with your note. Include the letter assigned to the blank, the selected language and any accent-matching convention. That information explains the result more clearly than a screenshot of a word alone. The search is local after its vocabulary pack is downloaded, and the tool does not save an account search history for later recovery.
