PDF Studio credits & licenses

What the PDF Studio is built with, and the licenses that apply.

What we built

LoschaZ designed and wrote the PDF Studio: the page board, the merge and compression logic, the workspace and these pages. Your files are read, rendered and written in your browser; the libraries below are served from our host, unmodified, and run on your device.

Components & licenses

  • pdf-lib 1.17.1 (Andrew Dillon) writes the merged PDF and copies pages without changing them: github.com/Hopding/pdf-lib, MIT License.
  • PDF.js 5.4.296 (Mozilla) reads PDFs and renders the previews and the pages that become images: github.com/mozilla/pdf.js, Apache License 2.0. It ships with the Liberation fonts (SIL Open Font License 1.1), the Foxit standard fonts (BSD-style license), OpenJPEG (BSD 2-Clause) and qcms (MIT), and Adobe’s character maps (BSD 3-Clause).
  • Outfit and Inter, the typefaces of the site: SIL Open Font License 1.1 and SIL Open Font License 1.1.

The full license texts are in the third-party notices and next to each component in /tools/merge-pdf/vendor/.

Our changes

None of the components is modified. They are loaded only after you add a file.
