Video upscaler – upscale video to 4K with AI

Upscale videos to 1080p, 2K or 4K for free with AI – frame by frame, right in your browser. Old clips, low-resolution downloads of your own footage and phone videos get sharper edges and less noise. Nothing is uploaded and there is no watermark.

Upscale a video

Stays on your device

Drop a video or a photo here

JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF · MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV · or paste a picture with Ctrl+V

No upload. The AI runs on your own graphics chip, so your photos and videos never leave the device.

Honest results. AI can rebuild edges and textures, but it cannot recover details the original never captured – a face that is a few pixels wide stays a guess.

How to upscale a video

  1. Add your video

Drop an MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV, or choose one. The tool reads it on your device.

  2. Preview one frame

Choose HD, 2K or 4K and press Preview one frame: you see before and after and how long the whole video will take.

  3. Upscale the video

Trim it to the part you need, press Upscale and keep the tab open. The MP4 keeps the original sound.

AI or fast – which method to use

AI runs a neural network that was trained to turn low-resolution, compressed pictures into clean, high-resolution ones. It sharpens edges, removes JPEG blocks and invents plausible fine texture. It suits photos, screenshots, game art, logos and old pictures from the web.

Fast enlarges with a sharp classic filter in a split second. It changes nothing the original does not show, which is right for pixel art you want smooth, for documents and when the AI is too slow on an older phone.

The noise and blur slider decides how strongly the AI cleans up: to the left it keeps film grain and fine noise, to the right it smooths noisy phone photos and heavy compression.

Upscaling videos

Videos work the same way: every frame goes through the AI and is written to an MP4 with the original sound. Preview one frame first – the tool measures how long a frame takes on your device and tells you how long the whole video will take. A computer with a recent graphics card upscales a short clip to 4K in minutes; phones take much longer, so trim the clip to the part you need.

Good to know

The AI works on 4× internally and then resizes precisely to the size you chose, so 2× and HD results are especially clean. Very large results (beyond 8K, or 16 megapixels on iPhone and iPad) are not offered, because browsers cannot hold them. Transparent PNGs keep their transparency.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to upscale a video to 4K?

It depends on the length, the starting size and your graphics chip. On a computer with a recent graphics card a frame takes well under a second; a phone is much slower. Preview one frame and the tool shows the estimate.

Does the video keep its sound?

Yes. AAC and Opus sound is copied into the new MP4 unchanged. Other sound formats cannot be copied, and the tool tells you when that happens.

Is the AI Upscaler free?

Yes. It is free with no account, no watermark and no limit on how many pictures you upscale. The AI runs on your device, so there is no server cost per picture.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. The pictures and videos are processed in your browser by your own graphics chip. Only the program and the AI model (about 5 MB, loaded once) come from our site.

Can it really make a picture 4K?

It makes a picture 4K in size and redraws edges and textures so it looks sharp at that size. Details the original never contained cannot be recovered, so a tiny, very blurry picture gets better but not perfect.

Which browsers and devices work?

Current Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox on computers, Android phones, iPhones and iPads. With WebGPU the AI is several times faster; other browsers use WebGL, and the fast method works everywhere.

How long does it take?

A photo usually takes a few seconds on a computer and longer on a phone. Videos depend on their length and your graphics chip: preview one frame and the tool estimates the total time.
