The short answer
Open Runeheart and pick a class: Rune Warden, Spark Weaver or Dusk Hunter. Combat runs on its own; spend gold on hero levels and press the boss button when you feel ready. Runes unlock at stage 5, and from stage 10 you can switch class for free.

In an idle RPG the fighting happens automatically. You do not press attack; you decide how your hero grows: which levels to buy, which gear to wear, which runes to combine and when to take on a boss. Time away counts too, because the hero keeps earning while you are gone.
Runeheart is an idle fantasy RPG with three classes and 300 stages across three worlds: Greenbreak, Ashridge and Starmoor. With Auto on, your hero moves to the next stage after each win. Boss fights start only when you press the boss button, so you choose the moment.
New systems unlock step by step, so the game never throws everything at you at once. A few minutes at a time is enough to make real progress, which makes it a good browser game for short breaks.
Which class should you pick?
Your first choice is not final. From stage 10 you can switch class freely, so pick the one that sounds most fun.
- Rune Warden: the toughest of the three and shields itself. A safe choice if you want fewer lost fights.
- Spark Weaver: hits hardest with its ability. Fragile, but bosses melt quickly.
- Dusk Hunter: uses its ability most often and lands more critical hits. Sturdier than the Spark Weaver, softer than the Rune Warden.
Your first hour: what unlocks when
Knowing what comes next helps you spend wisely. These are the milestones that change the most.
Right away: hero levels
Spend gold on hero levels early. The first level-up arrives within seconds, and each one raises attack and health.
Stage 5: runes
Socket the Fire rune when runes unlock. Runeheart has six runes and 15 recipes to combine them into.
Stage 10: class switch
Try all three classes once switching opens. It costs nothing, and neither does changing runes or gear.
Stage 15: daily tasks
Claim daily tasks and the login calendar from here on. Missing a day never resets the calendar.
Stage 175: Ascension
Replay the stages with your hero level kept and earn Heart Shards for permanent talents.
Gear, runes and pets: where your resources go
Gear can be equipped and enhanced, socketed with gems and collected in item sets. Runes add a second layer: combining the right ones into a recipe can change how a fight goes. Swapping either costs nothing, so experiment freely before a hard boss.
Eight pets fight at your side and can be raised over time. The five tabs at the bottom, Adventure, Hero, Runes, World and Storage, hold your levels, gear, runes, chests, dungeons and the village. If you are unsure where something is, it is almost always in one of those five.
A daily routine and the mistakes that slow beginners down
A visit to Runeheart can be very short. Read the report of what your hero earned while you were away, claim the daily tasks and the login calendar once they unlock at stage 15, and spend the new gold and materials. Then let Auto push through the stages and try the next boss when you are ready.
The most common beginner mistake is saving gold. Early on, hero levels are the cheapest power you can buy, so spend it. The second is losing to the same boss in the same way again and again. Runes, gear and class changes cost nothing, so change one thing, farm for a minute and try again.
Later, Ascension at stage 175 lets you replay the stages with your hero level kept. Heart Shards from it buy permanent talents, so each climb starts a little stronger than the last. After stage 300, mastery tiers and collection goals keep giving you something to work toward.
Losing to a boss, offline progress and saving
Lost to a boss? You keep everything you earned. Your hero returns to a cleared stage to farm, so level up, swap runes or try another class and challenge the boss again.
While you are away, your hero keeps earning gold, materials and chests for up to 12 hours. A report shows what was waiting when you return.
Progress saves automatically in this browser on this device. Clearing site data or a private window removes it, and it does not sync between devices. Runeheart plays in landscape or portrait with mouse or touch, and a reduced-effects setting helps on slower devices.
