How AI photo editing prompts work
With an AI photo edit you upload your own picture and describe what should change. ChatGPT, Nano Banana in Gemini, Seedream, FLUX and Adobe Firefly all accept a photo plus a written instruction. The result depends less on clever words than on order: what to keep, what to change, how the light should look and which format you need. Every edit prompt in this library follows that order, and Prompt Studio adds “Edit the uploaded photo” for models that need the hint.
How to edit a photo with AI without changing the face
Put the keep sentence first: “Keep my face, hairstyle and expression exactly the same.” Then make one change per message. A new background, a different outfit and a new hairstyle in one request is where faces drift. If the result is close, ask for a fix of one part in the same chat. A sharp, front-facing original helps more than any extra adjective.
Popular AI photo edits you can copy
- A new background with matching light, for profile pictures and shop photos.
- A different outfit, for trying a look before you buy it.
- A sharper, cleaner version of a blurry picture: see the image quality prompts.
- A restored and colorized family photo: see the old photo restoration prompts.
- A professional headshot from a casual photo: see the headshot prompts.
What to do when an AI edit goes wrong
If skin looks plastic, add “natural skin texture, no smoothing”. If the person looks pasted in, ask the model to match the light of the new background. If text or logos turn into nonsense, remove them from the request or add them later in a normal editor. Some edits, such as changing real public figures, are blocked by the providers and cannot be worded around.
Prompt collections by AI model and topic
Every prompt in Prompt Studio comes from one of these collections. Each collection explains when to use the prompts, which mistakes to avoid and how to adapt them, with an example picture.
